What does the symbol on the Book of Shadows mean?		The symbol is called the Triquetra, which is supposed to represent the Power of Three but also represents the three of the sisters working as one.


Why are there two pilots?		There was a pilot shot for the show, which was never broadcasted. For the pilot Lori Rom was cast as Phoebe Halliwell. Andy Trudeau has not been played by T.W. King, Morris does not appear and there are some more though small differences from the official pilot. The unaired pilot is available for download at http://charmed.fan-sites.org/pilot.php It might be added to the DVD box set for season 8 and is also widely available on the usual p2p


What is the show plot?		In the first episode we meet the three adult Halliwell sisters (Prue, Piper and Phoebe) reunited at the old family home in San Francisco six months after the death of their grandmother who had raised the sisters after their mother died when Phoebe was very young. Phoebe discovers "The Book of Shadows", written by several generations of their ancestors with various magic spells, and notes about various evil beings. The sisters discover that they are the Charmed ones, good witches with the job of defending the innocent and stopping various sorts of evil. Each of them now has magic powers. Prue has telekinesis (the ability to move things by though), Piper has the ability to stop time in an area for everyone except good witches, and Phoebe has the ability to see the future. The sisters are limited in that they can not use their powers for their own personal gain. This is not a static show, the characters do change, the sister's powers do (very slowly) increase both in ability and scope.


Where is Charmed filmed?		With the exception of some "stock" shots of San Francisco streets and skyline, the show is filmed in and around Los Angeles. There is no real manor as you can see it on the show. The rooms are fictional. The show is filmed on a set which is laid out on one floor in the Paramount studios and the "rooms" switch use whenever needed. However the outside shoots are made from a real house which is not in San Francisco though. You can go to the area and see it from the outside but you can not go inside, do a tour or meet any Charmed related crew member there. The real Manor's address is 1329 Carroll Avenue Los Angeles, California 90026 The home is located in an area in Echo Park called Angelino Heights. The major cross streets are Douglas and Sunset or E. Edgeware Road and Temple Street. Instructions: Take Echo Park exit off the 101, take the Bellevue ramp (right), make a left on Douglas and then a right on Carroll Avenue. The Golden Oak Ranch which is situated in the Santa Clarita area has also been used in the show.


Where has Prue's funeral been filmed		The funeral home where they taped Prue's funeral is called "Hollywood Forever Cemetery" and is on 6000 Santa Monica Blvd.


Where is the church where Paige first orbed a candle?		The church where Paige first orbed a candle into her hand is the St. Vincent de Paul church and is on 621 W. Adams Blvd.

What is the Book of Shadows?		Put together by many generations of Halliwell witches it is a manual describing both a wide range of magic spells, magic potions, plus previously encountered types of nasty creatures. Read more.


What is a Warlock?		Evil beings that kill witches in order to steal their powers. Warlocks have the ability to blink which means moving very fast from one place ot another with the blink of an eye for similar information see the Book of Shadows Index


What are White Lighters?		Guardians of new good witches. A very small number of humans are at death given the option of becoming a White Lighter. White Lighters do have magic powers for more information see the Book of Shadows Index


What are Witches?		Normally good practitioners of magic. Being a witch is passed from generation to generation via the female line, but witches are not necessarily female. There are however evil witches too.


What is the name of the opening theme song and who sings it?		The opening song is "How Soon is Now" performed by the band "Love Spit Love". This song is an edited version of the song they did for the soundtrack of the film "The Craft". The first band to perform this song was "The Smiths". How many seasons are there?		There are 8 seasons to 22 episodes (season 5 and 6 have 23 though).


Can I get Charmed episodes over the Internet?		If you mean downloading, the answer is yes. Almost all Peer-to-Peer programmes (e.g. Kazaa, WinMX etc.) offer episodes. There are also bittorrents (use Torrentspy to find a site). A good source is IRC (e.g. on irchighway.net #charmed-episodes). For clips you best check Google or YouTube.com. In Download there are video clips available in wmv format. Do NOT beg for whole episodes or certain clips


How can I make screenshots?		If you use a windows keyboard you will find the key "print" left from the functioin-keys. Play the file and click on pause then on the print-key. The screenshot is now saved to the clipboard. Open a suitable programme like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop and paste the content of the clipboard (strg+v). Cut, edit, done. If it doesn't work right away try to click the print-key several times or repeat the procedure. Check your graphics or DVD player software, usually there is a function to make screencaps too.

How much does each episode cost?		The production has 2 million $US per episodes


I think the characters never wear the same clothes twice, right?		True, the characters never wore 2 times the same outfits in the whole series. The only exeption is for the shirt that Prue wore when she was 17 years old in Be careful what you wish for that we saw it in Sight Unseen.

Where can I find out about bloopers and why are so many people into picking on the show		Bloopers are basically plot holes, amusing accidents or mistake that weren't caught, and made their way to the viewing public. They can be inconsistencies, like an actor wearing something in one shot, and it's missing in the next shot or illogical stories. Bloopers are no big deal but many people have fun finding them in episodes they know so well. To find them you also have to watch carefully and concentrated so it is not the critics who find them in most cases but devoted fans. There is a bloopers section on this site.

Is there an official Charmed site?		Not anymore. Paramount (Spelling Television's parent company) had a good Charmed site which could be considered to be the official one. Most sites directed or still direct you to TheWB's site though. However TheWB does no longer exist anymore.

Can I buy a copy of the Book of Shadows used in the show?		No. A photocopy of the Charmed Book of Shadows (beginning of season 3, about eighty pages) was sold on e-bay in August 2003. How do I draw a triquetra?		Damián has provided an instruction: How to draw a triquetra First we're gonna write the data of the size that we're gonna use: in this case radius A (45mm) radius B (55mm) radius C (mide 65mm) The radius C is a helper line that will be erased later .. You can draw on a paper or anything of any color that you want Keep the explanation and watch the pictures that are posted: 1. In a point called O, we're gonna pierce with the compass that has the size of the radius A, and then we draw a circle. (image 1) 2. Open the compass with the compass but this time with the size of the radius B. Repeat and draw other circle. (image 1) 3. Open the compass with the size of the radius C. That will be our helper-line that we're gonna use next. (image 1) 4. In a point (point 1) of the last drawed circle (preferably on the top part), we pierce the compass with the size of the same radius C. We draw a line that cut the same circle in a pont of the left (point 2). Now we pierce in the point of the last line that cut the circle and repeat the sequence over the same circle (radius C)- (point 3). Now repeat it again and you should have 6 points. (image 1) 5. Without changing the opening of the compass (always stays in 65mm) we draw a semicircle piercing with the compass in the point 2. Then repeat it but piercing in the point 4. And then again but in the point 6. 6. Open the compass 5mm more than before (70mm) and repeat the last sequence (drawing semi-circles) just as it says. (image 3) Now erase the helper-line and the little lines that cuts the semi-circles. Redraw the Triquetra. When you are done you can cut it and paste it wherever you want; paint it with any color etc. note: the pics works with other sizes. If you use them you will have a big and fat triquetra. But if you use the sizes that I gave in the explanation you will have a normal and thin triquetra.

Phoebe: Where is Buffy when you need her? in 1x20 The Power of two and indirectly Leo: It's true, vampires have been ostracized from the underworld for centuries. As far as I know they're a part of a whole different network now. in 4x18 Bite me "they're a part of a different network now" is a joke about the show Buffy (the vampire slayer) switching networks from WB (where Charmed airs) to UPN.


What happened to Charmed's network, The WB? I heard it changed its name ..		No, it ceased to exist. The WB Television Network, casually referred to as The WB, the acronym for Warner Brothers, or sometimes as The Frog (referring to the network's former mascot, the animated character Michigan J. Frog), was a television network in the United States, founded as a joint venture between the Warner Bros. film studio and Tribune Company on January 11, 1995. On January 24, 2006, CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment announced plans to launch The CW Television Network in the Fall of 2006. This new joint venture network features programming from both The WB and UPN. The WB shut down on September 17, 2006 followed by the opening of the new CW Network.

After Charmed has ended, what happened to the BoS?		According to the Charmed Magazine Brad Kern took it.

Did any of the main cast receive any awards on Charmed? How about the show itself?		Yes, Rose McGowan won a Family Television Award in 2005 as "Favorite Sister" While the rest of the main cast was nominated for several awards over the years none has won any for working on Charmed. Charmed itself has never won any award. From the numerous guest actors Alex Black won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series - Guest Starring Young Actor in 2003 for his role as Tyler in 4x12 Lost and bound. In 1999 Jay Gruska and Tim Truman (composers) won an ASCAP Award.

Where can I find blueprints of the manor?		The only site that has them does not wish to share. Therefore I will not promote the site, pls. google yourself. Keep in mind that these blueprints are fictional. The real set is laid out on one floor in the Paramount studios and the "rooms" switch use whenever needed. The blueprints follow the design of the manor as it is claimed during the seasons and does not take into account the disappearance and appearance of rooms.

Where has the outdoor scene between Prue and Phoebe in We all scream for ice-cream been filmed?		The outdoor scene between Prue and Phoebe was filmed at the entrance to the Central Library in downtown Los Angeles.

Where has the scene with the dancing nymphs in 5x19 Naughty nymphs been filmed?		The scene where the three nymphs dance in the fountain and one of the nymphs get killed was filmed in the courtyard of Pasadenas City Hall.

Where have the outdoor scenes in 6x01 Valhalley of the Dolls been filmed?		Many of the exterior scenes for that episode were shot at the Los Angeles arboretum.
