Confirmed:
Shannen Doherty will be returning to 90210.
She will be the director of an episode with a musical in it and Shannen will be
the director. She will be the guest drama teacher.
Shannen will be reprising her role as Brenda Walsh. Following Brenda's move to
London more than a decade ago, she became "a successful theater actress" and
then transitioned into directing. West Beverly High "approaches her to return as
a guest director for the school's musical production.

in Lifetime drama pilot
New half-hour HBO pilot adds two
Holly Marie Combs, Brooke Burns and Rochelle Aytes have signed on to star in
Lifetime's drama pilot "Mistresses."
Additionally, Michael Weaver and Mary Birdsong have joined HBO's half-hour pilot
"Suburban Shootout," directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.
Based on the BBC series, "Mistresses," from Fox 21, revolves around a quartet of
thirtysomething women who have been friends since college.
Combs ("Charmed") will play Jane, who gave up her career to be a stay-at-home
mom. Burns ("Miss Guided") will play Shannon, an outspoken and sharp attorney.
Aytes ("Drive") will play Ava, a bright and spunky soap star.
Combs is repped by Gersh and Precision Entertainment. Aytes is repped by
Innovative and attorney Jeff Endlich.

Rose to be Red
Sonja
Robert Rodriguez will produce a new big-screen adaptation of Red Sonja, with his
real-life flame Rose McGowan to play the flame-haired comic-book vixen. Douglas
Aarniokoski will direct the film, expected to release in 2010, according to USA
Today.
"I was surprised when Rose brought me a script of Red Sonja that she liked,"
Rodriguez says from his home base of Austin, where he is shooting Shorts, a
family film with James Spader and Jon Cryer. "I found it very entertaining.
Sonja was strong, smart, cunning - just about everything she'd have to be to
survive."
The story will take its cues from the comic books as well as works by pulp
novelist Robert E. Howard, father of the original Sonja (then spelled Sonya) and
"Conan the Barbarian" (also undergoing a movie revival).
"Howard's goal was always, first and foremost, to spin a good yarn and to
entertain," says Rodriguez, who is hoping his Red Sonja turns into a franchise.
"That's our goal."
Production will begin in October.

the Grand Canyon".
Synopsis: Set in the Grand Canyon, a
team of Smithsonian researchers have stumbled across a lost
walled Aztec city guarded by some evil spirits, including a
"great flying serpent of death."
As days turn to weeks, Sarah Jordan, the daughter of the
professor leading the expedition, assembles a team to rescue her
father and his colleagues from the clutches of the ancient Aztec
warriors and their horrible serpent god.

Photos of Holly's son Riley
Charmed and Picket Fences star Holly Marie Combs welcomed her
second son Riley Edward Donoho back in October 2006, and has
been leading a quiet life since, raising Riley and big brother
Finley Arthur, 4, away from the bright lights of Hollywood.
Therefore, we were pleasantly surprised to hear from Holly
earlier today. She sent a short note dismissing the speculation
and rumors a few Charmed fans have stirred up as to why she's
kept private, and enclosed some photos of her youngest son.
These are the first images she's chosen to make public.
There has been a lot of speculation about Riley since I
decided to lead a more private and normal life. I have not
released a picture of him because I thought it unnecessary for a
stay-at-home mom with nothing to promote but breastfeeding!
Because [CBB] has always been so kind and respectful to me, as
well as some of my friends, I wantned
to send this in an effort to kill all the rumors about my
perfectly healthy, really cute (in my biased opinion!) baby boy,
who is 18 months old now.

McGowan
hoping for a strike break so she can nurse sick dog
Actress Rose McGowan is quietly praying for a summer
(08) actor’s strike - so she can spend time at home with her sick dog.
The Grindhouse star recently learned her 11-year-old terrier, Fester, has a
brain tumour and now all she wants to do is spend time with her beloved pooch.
She tells PlanetGossip.Eonline.com, "Five weeks ago he was jumping in the air."
Ongoing talks between studio bosses and acting union officials are trying to
resolve issues before a strike is necessary, but McGowan really wouldn’t mind a
long summer break.
She adds, "I’ll get to spend more time with Fester."
A possible strike will also give the actress the chance to rest up after
smashing her leg.
Hobbling McGowan has been told she has to wear a leg brace for the next six
weeks.
She reveals, "I had a fight with a wall, and the wall won. It sucks."

"My brothers hot (and other dilemmas) (a.k.a. untitled Kristin Newman project)
(ABC) - Alyssa Milano ("My Name Is Earl") is in talks to play the lead role in
the comedy pilot, about a thirtysomething woman (Milano) who tries to break free
of her overbearing and dysfunctional family, friends and boss.
Her character, Louisa "Lou," is further detailed in the casting notice as
follows: "Early 30s, Female, a bit rumpled and girl-next-door pretty,
intelligent, with a sense of humor, selfless. Lou has never gotten married or
even managed much of a life of her own because she's always been caught up in
the lives of her parents: her larger-than-life, selfish, charming mother,
Elizabeth, and her irresponsible father, Joe, both of whom got divorced when she
was 12. Something of a mother figure to Joe's young children by his second wife,
Lou works at a literacy program funded by a famous playboy athlete, and is
pretty much put herself in call to the catastrophes/demands of both her parents.
Urged by her best friend Sasha to get some "me" time and go out of town to hook
up with The Nice Chicago Guy, Lou finds her plans put off - again - when her dad
drops his latest bomb: he's marrying again, his kids are in rebellion, his new
fiance has a hunky 35 year old son who's perfect for Lou, and worst of all--her
mother chooses this moment to decide to devote the rest of her life to her
relationship to Lou."

"Charmed" co-star Rose McGowan will join TCM's Robert Osborne to
co-host "The Essentials" beginning March 8. McGowan is
no stranger to TCM; she was a "guest programmer" with Osborne last November.
On "The Essentials," Osborne and McGowan will introduce interesting movies,
starting with Billy Wilder's "The Apartment," which won an Oscar in 1960 with
costars Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine and Fred MacMurray.
